Susan Parcels
R.N. (Registered Nurse), (C.A.R.N.A.), Group Therapist
I have been a Registered Nurse with CARNA since 1980 and after 18 years of working in in-patient psychiatry, I expanded my professional career to include Group Psychotherapy Training through the Canadian Group Psychotherapy Association. Since 1998 I have been in private practice, specializing in Mental Health counselling as well as Domestic Violence Treatment programs, in both individual and group settings.

I believe that resiliency is strongly dependent on one's ability to connect and engage with individuals who bear witness to their struggles, traumas, and vulnerabilities. I work specifically from a strength-based modality: We are more than the sum total of the struggles we experience.

I have been working as Certified Canadian Counsellor since 2017, registered with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association, working in both individual counselling and group therapy settings. In 2020 I became certified as a Clinical Trauma Professional for adults, children and adolescents.

My specialities include Mental Health Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Trauma Therapy, Domestic Violence Treatment, Individual and Group Counselling.

I believe in counselling from a wholistic approach, looking at the entirety of an individual, not exclusively the situation that brought them to therapy.
